She could be an EE but there isn't any way to know if she has the blue shell gene. Hatcheries sometimes sell EEs that lay brown eggs.Any idea what she is? I had two - one was for sure laying blue eggs. The second one died and I thought she stopped laying because we stopped getting blue eggs. Now I'm wondering if she was really laying brown all along and I didn't realize it...?
I thought we were getting two a day for a bit but now can't remember.
Where did you get them? It looks like a mix.I have this baby, almost 3 months old I have no idea what breed he/she is and I have two others just like this one.
Thank you!
Mixed breed cockerelView attachment 1033043 We brought home two chicks that had been incubated in my son's science class. So we knew it was a gamble if we would get roosters. One we confirmed as a rooster but now we think the second is a rooster too. (I caught it crowing this morning) Would love a second opinion. Also any ideas on breed would be nice too.
Did you order a EE? Hatcheries do consider them "exotic".Hello again, I thought the white chick I posted earlier was my free exotic chick but if it is an easter egger than this is probably the bonus chick: Looks a lot like the barred rocks that I have.

And for bonus fun.. this picture of one of my barred rocks. Is it too soon to tell if it is a cockerel? It certainly has larger white bars and suspicious growth on its face. Ha
