Hi there, I was sold some Ameracauna chicks. I think I have a ton of roosters in the group and am about to start rehoming them. I want to confirm that they are Ameracaunas and not Easter Eggers and that they are actually roosters before I advertise. ;)

Thank you!! I didn't know they could come in this color variety - do you think she will stay that way or will her coloring become more like the ones I've seen on google?
Also would you be able to tell me what this one is? It's greyish in color and I'm pretty sure it's a rooster. He's a sweetheart and I plan on keeping him!!

Thank you for your help. Im really bummed they are Roosters but as long as they stay nice. It wont be bad. I just really wanted all hens. This may be a really stupid question, but does anyone sell chicks and guarantee them to be a certain sex? Im sure hoping the others are hens but I have to say I'm pretty worried since so far the 2 out of 4 RIRs happen to be Roosters.

Although I live in Arkansas now, I'm from Livingston, Texas. A friend and I went together to get chickens. She ordered all females from a feed store in Livingston; some for me and some for another friend. I don't know who the supplier was, but I got 19 of them to raise. We had some Buff Orpingtons, Ameraucanas (Easter Eggers) and Rhode Island Reds.

This was my first time raising chicks, and I'm happy to say that every one of them survived and every one of them lays eggs. So, in answer to your question, yes, your can get chicks guaranteed to be all one gender.

At the time she ordered the gals, she also ordered some males for our freezers, but they were never delivered to the feed store, so we had to buy any chicken we ate. Ugh!

Help! is this little frizzle cochin bantiam a roo? He/she is about 16 weeks old and started to crow...sort of. Sounds like a sick frog. Heard that dominant hens will crow too?

Hello, new member here :)
We got this freebie Partridge Cochin from our hatchery order and we assumed it would be a rooster but we don't know for sure! Any ideas? S/he just turned 11 weeks.
