I suggest that you read the "Predators" sub forum and figure out what predators you have in your area. Once you figure that out, start reading about proofing your barn area(s?) to protect your birds. The challenges using an existing barn are very different that building/buying a purpose built structure.

The reading you will do on predator issues will give you good insight into what/how you should modify your barn.
