Don't like snakes! Who's with me?

I like reptiles, too.

I just find them so cool.

But yeah, I can see how you would be afraid of them, with their fangs and such...

I admire them from a distance.

I understand that they're part of the ecology... but they still give me the willies.

Rather like spiders... know they're good... and yet... *shudder*

Meanwhile roaches that Don't Bite freak me out... but then I can't find any reason why they exist... nasty buggers.

If I saw a grass, rat, etc snake NOT IN MY AVIARY... I'd be okay... warn the kids away
(non-venomous bites could still transmit staph I think?) but I'd leave it alone to eat all the rodents it wants.

But a copperhead, rattler, etc... dead dead dead dead dead... and good riddance.

LOL I just finished feeding my snake and I come back to the computer and see this thread... to funny

when i was growing up i always wanted a snake, now i have children and chickens, and i live in south GA, So, when we see a snake more often then not its poisonous, which means that snake only gets one of three things at my house. the .45 the 12 gauge or the shovel which ever is closer.

I'm not trying to offend anyone by this thread, but I really don't like creep crawly things! I've had so many close calls with rattle snakes and almost got bit everytime I see a snake I jump 10 feet up in the air!

Well at least with snakes and spiders they really don't want anything to do with you...

Stupid roaches though... they'll CHARGE you... and I swear it's ONLY when I don't have shoes on.

DS's friend Skylur had a red tailed boa that mine just went on and on about... he really wanted one...

"Hon, you do NOT put a snake and a gerbil in the same room and expect both to live"

Snakes are serious escape artists... poor Riley would be toast. And the thought of that thing snuggling up with me... uh uh NO way...

Our science teacher in 7th had a chameleon and an iguana... hehe still remember the moron who thought petting them was a good idea... after he'd been warned... moron had a serious bite before he listened. Putz.

I wouldn't mind a leopard gecko... those are ubercute... and from what I've read pretty easy (as far as reptiles go) to care for... but for now I think we're good with what we've got.

Can't you just (and I know this would be an extremely brave thing for you to do, being an extreme snakaphobe - is that a word? - myself) "accidently" let the darned thing get away or die or something in the middle of the night?
