This morning we found a hog nose snake and for some reason my mom is crazy for snakes???

She used to have tons of them when she was little. So now they are carrying the snake around the house and kissing it and sticking it in my face saying: " Awe! Isn't she cute???" I'm going: " Get that nasty thing outa' my face!!! And don't EVER touch me or my dog again!!! " Now try and guess what they're doing??? They got my brooder box and are using it for the snake!! AH! I'm never going to touch of even dare put any baby chicks in there again!!!
I'm just over here doing this:

Now I'm just getting grosed out!!! I hate snakes and have NEVER liked them!
My older sister was holding it and I said: " How can you hold that nasty thing? " and she said: " It's not as nasty as some of the chickens you hold all the time!!! "
I take that as a insolt!!!!!!!
"Some people!"
( All you snake lovers out there don't get mad! I Just don't like snakes that's all! )
Is there anybody else out there that doesn't like snakes what so ever?

OMG there is no way - I would have keeled over from a heart attack by now.
I can't even look at one in the zoo. I am terrified of them getting near my yard/chickens and have some "snake-away" that stinks but works pretty good and am interested in trying some of the other "tricks" I have seen mentioned on here about keeping snakes away.

My kids told me they "killed a snake" in our backyard last year and then showed me a movie of what they really did with it (launched it into the field with a giant water balloon launcher - well, of course it came back). And my son put a snakeskin on my car to creep me out (worked). I grew up in Florida in a new developing neighborhood (late 50's early 60's) and we had rattlesnakes - big ones - and I grew up with a fear (terror) of snakes.

Get that snake outta there!

I'm with chickenzoo, heck I may even get up close on them if they're a non-poisonous snake.. But you wouldn't be able to get me within three feet (or further if a large snake) or to get me to hold it. I kind of think you're overreacting though on some parts, why never use the brooder again just because there was a snake in it?

I also hate snakes. I am very fearful and I would even say I have a phobia. I can't even look at a picture without getting spooked and feeling sick to my stomach. YUCK!! I am so with you on this one!!
