Don't like snakes! Who's with me?

Hey guys hate is such a strong word, you dont have to like something but that doesnt mean you have to hate it. At the very least understand and respect just keep your distance, these things are much more afraid of you then you are of them (humans have a way of overreacting). Try looking beyond these fears for a little while and learn about them as being some of the most unique creatures on the planet.

And please be respectful of other posters to, there are those of us who keep and love these guys, bet you can imagine how it feels hearing about how people would rather kill them

Kind of confused as to why this was posted too, if you don't like them then whatever, but why post your dislike in the section about pets? There's obviously no predation issues otherwise it would be in the other section. Have a little heart guys these are our pets your talking about.

Funny, just last night me and my girls were trying to outvote my wife on letting us get a snake.

This morning we found a hog nose snake and for some reason my mom is crazy for snakes???

She used to have tons of them when she was little. So now they are carrying the snake around the house and kissing it and sticking it in my face saying: " Awe! Isn't she cute???" I'm going: " Get that nasty thing outa' my face!!! And don't EVER touch me or my dog again!!! " Now try and guess what they're doing??? They got my brooder box and are using it for the snake!! AH! I'm never going to touch of even dare put any baby chicks in there again!!!

Now I'm just getting grosed out!!! I hate snakes and have NEVER liked them!
My older sister was holding it and I said: " How can you hold that nasty thing? " and she said: " It's not as nasty as some of the chickens you hold all the time!!! "
I take that as a insolt!!!!!!!

I'm not trying to offend all you "Snake Lovers" out there, but I really can't get over having a snake in the house! Last night I couldn't go to bed cause I was thinking about the snake and what would happen if it got out!

So I didn't sleep every good last night.

Every time I see them carry it around on their heads and around their necks I wonna scream bloody murder!!!!
Still can't get over it!

I have relocated two different five-foot snakes to a wooded area about three miles away on two different occasions in the last two weeks.
I wouldn't have, but they were too close for comfort to my baby chicks.

Oh for heaven's sake!! Chill out. The reason they are bugging you with the snake is because they are getting such a wonderful reaction from you when they do. I'd do the same thing. Sorry. And refusing to use the brooder just because the snake was in it once is just plain silly. Now I wouldn't put chicks in the brooder if the snake was still in residence......

And what horrible thing did you think would happen if the snake did get out during the night? Just curious.
