Does everyone with children between 0-17 get child tax credit. In Uk only those with a joint income of less than £57 get child tax credit. Eeryone however does get child benefit which is about £18 for each child. What if you were to drop the word insurance and call it a national healthcare tax? Congress has the authority to raise new taxes doesn't it. I'm thinking that taxation is ever evolving as new products come on stream. For example, purchase tax on goods and services Duty on alcohol, tobacco and petrol?

Chickened, I think that when you cite something, or post something you take intact from another site, you should acknowledge that you did so. Even if you agree with the opinion, posting someone else's work as your own is known as plagiarism.

And yes I did go and look, because the writing style was clearly not your own.

The actual posting is this:

Are you referring to the far right think tank, The Heritage Foundation? Actually the general welfare clause encompasses healthcare for sure. The health care plan is for the general welfare of all the USA not just the wealthy and those with access to affordable health care. So I'm not sure which person propped up by the health insurance company is making that opinion, since you didn't give them credit for it.

BTW these long diatribes posted for us to have to suffer through that are written in boring grandiose language are a real drag. I know you can create a thought all on your own. I know they are usually regurgitation of far right bullet points, but that's ok. That way I don't have to actually listen to the far right hate machine to know what's going on over there.

There have been several court cases ruling on the constitutionality of the current health care law. Courts have come down on either side, so yes it is being discussed and considered. I expect it to go all the way to the Supreme Court.

From the New York Times article June 15, 2011, on health care reform:

"By February 2011, three judges had upheld the mandate and two had found it unconstitutional. The issue is considered almost certain to be determined by the Supreme Court."

For sure.

I am a firm believer in letting a document speak for itself, was not trying to pull a "fast one" not my style, this is a chicken chat forum If some one wishes to sue me for copyright or "plagiarism" well... they have too much time on thier hands. I cut and pasted to avoid the posting of the comments as I could have put my own comments with the post also and furthermore what difference is thier really in repeating someones work ver batem or in your own words as either way it was on someone else shoulders? Also I also try not to mention group affiliates so people like Dunkopf can come along with the old "they are bias or Bush related" groups or some other silly way of discredting. And besides I apparently have a secretary now that will gladly do it for me.

Ah the Heritage Foundation. We may as well just abandon all rational thought and join Free Republic.

The Constitution neglects to mention many things: universal suffrage, the National Parks Service, emancipation, SS, the FAA, our armed forces, the rights of women to own property, trips to the moon, child labor laws, food safety, the Treasury Department, K-12 education, Rte 66, the FBI, the ADA, immigration law, the internet, the Smithsonian Institution, and so on.

So what?

Newfoundland, to answer your question, the Child Tax Credit is for any child under 17 listed as a dependent who provides less than half the costs of their own support. There are income caps set at $110,000 for married couples filing jointly, $55,000 for married filing separately, and $75,000 for individuals. The amount of the credit below those limits is $1,000 and it gets phased out as income rises. There is also an Additional Child Tax Credit that applies if the Child Tax Credit is larger than the taxes owed.

Currently total paid to insurance annually...about $17,000.
Benefits received....a few hundred per year if that.

Current need....about $10,000 total for two adults. Two are items that if not addressed will stop our ability to work, for good.
Covered by insurance...zero.

If I became divorced this week I would be getting free treatment by the end of the month at the local state clinic that treats undocumented workers for free. Who pays for the operating costs of that hospital? WE DO!@

What are we paying insurance for? And why should I care if it is illegal to order my meds from overseas since everything that was covered five years ago is no longer covered? Why should I care if I go bankrupt due to medical bills? There is far greater incentive to get on the dole than to keep working this unAmerican dream.
