Sorry never seen before photos of women in that condition but afterwards, its bewilering and sad and happy that the cancer is gone from her. Some women have a stronger consitution to face these ordeals.

Yes, it's a horrible disease and we can only pray that some day a researcher will find a way to prevent this killer in the first place.

Will be curious to see where research money will come from and the amounts and for which diseaeses the panels choose to research as private funds will dry up undoubtedly.

Congress provides the funds for the bulk of cancer research. The NCI is the biggest research institute and it is funded by Congress. So yes I expect that we will see funds dry up with our current Congress.

So what's wrong with pornography, so long as anyone in it is over 18 and acting of their own free will. As long as it's not openly displayed where someone may see it and get offended. Which vulnerable are you talking about? The elderly, children, poor? Lots of vulnerable people in this country.

Burning or disgracing the American flag sucks, so does that group that goes to funerals of service members and protests homosexuals, so does that wacko preacher that burned the Quoran, so does alleged news stations that lie on a regular basis. It's all covered under freedom of speech.

Unlike the amendment that mentions general welfare. General welfare is very vague and open to interpretation. Anyone over the age of 18 can figure that out. I use 18 because kids see everything in black and white. As you get older you realize it's mostly shades of grey. Just like a lot of the Constitution with the exception of specific procedures.

BTW 15% is not a large part of America. The last election cycle was just a prime example of what happens when people get complacent. 90% of the incumbents that lost their seats were in traditionally red areas. The only reason they got elected in the first place was because people in those areas would have elected Ronald McDonald to get rid of the incumbents they replaced. Eight years of Mr Smirky made people really desperate. Even in Red states.

No. They do whatever the guys on TV and radio say they should do. Since we have 3 branches of government, with one of them appointed vs elected, it is hard to bring them down. You can vote out the POTUS and put in a different guy. If the Congress has a majority of the other party all you get is gridlock. You can even run the Senate with a minority, because of the filibuster rules.

We also have a 'first past the post' style of winning an election. This has led to parties, usually the Liberal Democrats, amassing perhaps a quarter of the votes, but because thy have come a close second in lots of constituencies, this has translated into only a handful of seats in the House of Commons. There are about 600 seats up for grabs, but sometimes they have got less than 10. Recently, the government held a referendum to see if the electorate wanted to adopt proportional representation but they rejected the idea.

People prefer to have a constituency Member of Parliament, who they feel represents them, and who they can go to for help. MPs hold 'surgeries' each week in their constituencies, where it is possible to make an appointment to see them. They deal with all kinds of things that the public brings to their notice, local issues like maybe funding to a special school, road widening schemes that people oppose, or policing issues. I think this is a good system. It gives people a voice.

Don't know where the Daily Mail got their information from FourPawz, but it may be that for some women, depending on their general health and type of cancer, surgery is not the best option. Mine is only anecdotal evidence but last year, when I had a lumpectomy, radio therapy and tamoxifen, I was over sixty. In the same ward as myself, and having exactly the same treatment, was a lady of 73 and an eighty five year old. A lady of ninety six was having a hip replacement operation. No sign of any rationing here.

It degrades a woman to a mere sex object... for starters...

That's interesting, chickened. Is it not degrading for men to be sexual objects?
