Don't understand why they aren't laying.

My araucanas hens are 7 months old, and still have not even began to lay eggs. I really don't understand why. If anyone has any suggestions or comments because I NEED HELP!!!!

My leghorn is almost 7 or 8 months old and she isn't laying either. The man at the feed store told me to start feeding her layer pellets. I've olny been feeding her some for almost a week maybe she'll start laying soon.

Sounds like they matured right at the time when the days get shorter, so they never started up. I had the same thing happen with my Welsummers last year. Now that the days are getting longer, you should see eggs anytime in the next month or two. Watch for squatting and a bright red combs--eggs won't be long after that! Very frustrating, I know!!!

This is the reason I want to hatch or get chicks early this year!
