Has anyone completed a workout of their choice or my three dumb arm exercises yet?
Yup! I find it easier to get the workout done between breakfast and lunch then worry about doing it later. I tend to put it off if I wait to do it

Please cancel that premium stuff immediately. It is a waste of money.
It’s an annual once a year thing. I got it last year cause they had tons of cool courses or features or whatever but then I never used it or at least not very much. I did briefly. But turns out I already canceled it a while ago and it expires soon.

Okay, in for a penny in for a pound.

I've read about half of the thread right now and have some different POVs to add to the mix.

I am 5'2" tall and between 125 and 130 pounds right now. In the past I have been an incredibly active person. Seriously active. Jogging, riding dirt bikes, competitive cyclist. On top of that DH and I harvest our own firewood. 10-12 cords from our own timber. He chains it, drops it, saws it into rounds some of them weighing close to 200 pounds and then he and I or sometimes by myself roll them into our tractor bucket for transport back to our barn where we once again man handle it into the splitter to be turned into firewood.

I also need to add that I am 68 years old and he is 70.

Things change. For me, three years ago I was diagnosed with advanced osteoarthritis/porosis and a type of rheumatic arthritis that they just lump under the title serum negative RA. My favorite 'fun' activities came to a screeching halt. Can't jog due to the deterioration of my left hip I'd be risking a fracture. Can't dirt bike. They discovered degenerative disc disease and stenosis along with osteo in my spine and I'm at risk for a compression fracture or once again, a hip fracture. I can't ride my upright bike any more because of fall risk and the stress of the forward posture I have in order to sit on the bike. I can ride my racing recumbent trike.

I love to walk but now I'm restricted because they found arthritis and bone spurs in my feet last week that are causing me pain.

On top of it I have to keep my weight down to lessen the stress on my bones.

Do the same diets work for everyone? Nope. Every time I get a steroid shot there are the same ten pounds that I gain that I have to lose. I hate it. Had my last steroid shot two months ago and have lost about 8 pounds so far. I need to be about 120 pounds. Doctors have told me at my age I need reserve in case I get sick or yeah, break a bone. They want me to weigh about 130 but do my bones need less weight on them? Probably.

My diet is simple now. I avoid a lot of bread, I avoid a lot of deserts but life is too short to go without food that tastes good so what is the solution?

For me it's serving size. I read what it is on whatever package it comes out of or look it up on the internet and I try to stick to it.

Is it hard? Hell yes it is. I love sweets and once again, I do eat them but only in small quantities and not every day. No candy bars but I do eat low sugar granola bars as a treat. Potato chips. Love them but once again a serving. Meat? Chicken, poultry and fish. Small servings. Lots of veggies, lots of fruit. As few processed foods as possible.

Do I get hungry. Oh yes I do. But as far as exercise is concerned one size does not fit all the same as one diet fits everyone's needs.

A body in motion stays in motion. We have 4 young cattle dogs. Take them for a run, not only do they get exercise but we do also. We have a 29 acre hobby farm. There is always something that needs done.

I would give anything to lift weights but repetition kills my joints. But I do lift 50 pound of bags of feed with the doctor's blessing. You would be amazed at what constitutes exercise as you take care of your poultry flocks.

You've got to want to lose weight. You have to be willing to move even when it hurts to do it. If you can walk, if you can run if you can exercise, for God's sake, embrace it. You don't know how fast it can be taken away from you and how much you are going to miss it when it's gone.

I retired from nursing when I was 60. One of my jobs when I was working as a clinical nurse was taking care of Bariatric patients. I remember one lady, very sweet who weighed close to 600 pounds. I remember asking her how she got the way she was, how did she get to be almost 600 pounds. Her reply? I just kept eating.

Don't just keep eating, guys. Take control of what goes into your mouth and find ways to keep your body in motion no matter what your age is.

Trust me, you don't want to wait until it is too late.

I'll do three sets tonight, with eights.
Report back when you're done because I'm keeping track.

No slacking allowed.
This is boot camp baby.
No whining.
No cybabying and no damn complaining.
Just do it.
