Well if you enjoy doing it you won't regret it. Any kind of exercise that you actually look forward to doing is going to be beneficial long-term because you'll keep doing it.. I do not look forward to crunches push ups or squats.

But I have found a lot of ways to make the most out of my hoop workout. Sometimes I do arm exercises with weights while I'm hooping.
You can do squats while hooping which is REALLY hard.
You can shuffle from side to side, you'll really feel that in your butt.
You can do stomach vacuums..
So when I say I am hooping these days I am not just standing there hooping.
Of course ya gotta get the hang of it first.
