I am almost done purging the last jars of fruit juice. These are the last jars…1/2 gallon and some quarts...about 14 gallon total.
Sure represents hours of picking, cleaning, cooking, processing in times of plenty.
MIL advised me to make juice from sand plums when they produced because they don’t make every year.
I’m straining the juice thru a sieve so I won’t flood the kitchen drain. Then dumping the pulp in the bucket for chickens.
Hubby just suggested that since it is really cold and dry that I could empty the jars of juice and pulp on the ground under the fruit trees. I’m thinking the compost pile and the tractor would be a much better option...tomorrow.
Side note…I closed up my treadmill to make room to sort out the boxes of office supplies. I tossed a folded blanket on the console. Dribble immediately took possession…next to a bag of kitty toys.
