HA! Maybe Maude is practicing for a career in show business. Hadn't thought of that...

The big'un is a polish. The littles are, of course, silkies. They crack me up in the rain. The other chickens go stand in the shade, but not Maude and the silkies. They go wallow around in the rain and mud. I'm not sure show she does it, but Fifi the silkie will be perfectly white again tomorrow. Clearly there is a little chicken hair salon around these parts that they duck out to when I'm not watching.

I read somewhere that some silkies & polish learn to wet their heads so that they can see!

I always feel sorry for the silkies when it rains and they look like that!
