I started to cut the door in the side for the chickens and I got to thinking, really don't know how big to cut it!! Can somebody tell me about how big is good?

I wouldn't go smaller than 9x12 and that will be a real squeeze for larger chickens... 10-14 x 14 is pretty commonly used. Taller than wide, if it isn't square. Highly recommend cutting the hole so the bottom is significantly ABOVE the floor of the coop, to reduce the amount of litter that gets kicked out.

Have fun,

Pat

I don't know How appropriate it is, But I used a paper plate to mark for the 1/2 circle and cut striaght down from there.
