DOSAGE FOR CORID, PLEASE.........

Antibiotics won't help with Coccidiosis. Coccidia are protazoa not bacteria.

FisherMOM,

Yes, if you do see blood in their stool, especially if accompanied by any other symptoms, and you think it is cocciodosis, you should treat the whole flock at once because if one is exposed, probably they all are.

I have no idea about Sulmet because i used Corid/Amprolium 9.6%. Corid knocks out all strains of cocci, and is reportedly not as hard on the system as Sulmet. You might want to go ahead and get some Corid on hand so that you have it should the need arise, as it is very common and likely when your chicks are this age.

In regard to the Corid product, the one i found was marked for cattle use, but as long as it is Amprolium 9.6%, then you can use it for your chickens too. It's the same stuff.

Glad to hear that your chicks seem to be o.k.

I want to clarify the math on this dosage conversion if i may.

5cc is almost exactly 1 teaspoon. so 9cc is almost 2 teaspoons.

i don't want anyone thinking 1 cc = 1 teaspoon. it does not.

to be exact, 9cc is 1.826 teaspoons. so unless you have a way to measure out your tenths of teaspoons, you would round this up to 2 teaspoons for 9cc.
