Dosage for Wazine 17

So I picked up some safeguard liquid wormer for goats and administered 1/2cc per bird. All except for one. That huzzy put up a serious fight. Got a hold of her one time and as I approached her mouth she freaked out like no tomorrow. One time she flew up in the air, landed on my back and jumped off to get away. I tried soaking a piece of bread with the medication and she detected the medicine and wouldn't eat it. I like my chickens, but after the aggravation she caused I will have no problem culling her. So all my birds have been wormed except one. Any ideas to get her the medication?

"Huzzy" hahahahahaha! I havnt heard that one in years! LOL!
Sounds like a good name for her LOL. See if you can get someone to hold her for you and have the person pull her wattles down. Her mouth will open, she will struggle alot but don't let go of her wattles. When she tires, squirt the wormer in her mouth and let go of the wattles right away so she can swallow the wormer on her own without aspirating. Good luck.

Ugh, Dawg the wife helped. She held the chickens and I grabbed the waddles and administered the meds. This sole chicken for one was hard to catch. Could only get her once. I guess my wife was a bit scared and wasn't holding her tight enough when she began to fight and she got away. Its a black australorp by the way. I reckon I'll give it another go later. Thanks for the advice.

Went and tried again, it was a no go. This chicken freaks out so bad fighting to get away, I'm afraid she'll hurt herself in the process. As soon as we get close she freaks out and takes flight, runs into things and is just an all out maniac. I can't reach them on the roost either so a night time attack is out of the question.

I was going to suggest getting her at night, guess that's a no go. Too bad we don't live closer, I'd help you out.

I injected some green beans w/ the dosage. There was some dosage loss but she ate them. At least she got something.

I read every post in this thread and want to make sure I'm clear in my understanding that wazine should be treated for 10 days, New water treatment each day. I'm only worming as a precaution twice a year, this being my first treatment ever. I have not seen worms or really suspected any, but the birds are "teenagers" and came from a farm where they were not treated. There is an increase in yellow poo lately, but I'm not sure if it's just the hot weather. also their run stays mostly shaded and moist longer than a sunny run.
Should I follow up with safeguard after wazine or not?
