I'm trying to get an idea of how many roos will need new homes. As near as I can tell, 3 BRs, the EE, and at least 50% of the Delawares are not going to be added to my laying flock.

I wasn't able to get pics of all 14 Delawares, but from the ones I have you can at least tell me if my instincts are right:
#1 -- big man on campus

#2 -- pullet on the left, roo on the right
sexing1.jpg

#3 -- pullet (the most severely pecked at prior to moving to the coop)
sexing2.jpg

#4 -- Dumplin' (roo)
sexing3.jpg

#5 -- Johnny B (roo)

#6 -- pullet

#7 -- roo (he turned his head so his comb doesn't show, but it's almost as developed as the other two)

I forgot to upload a shot of the EE. I'll try to add it tomorrow.

i agree, cutest pic ever that first one!
i love those "extreme close-ups" of chicken faces. cracks me up every time!

Mine, that have feathered out white/grey like that, have started to show definite signs of maleness (saddle feathers & long black tail feathers)....

One still has me guessing though. Somewhere on here, someone mentioned that if you have red or orange bars show up on the wings that it's a boy.

I don't think that's an EE. No cheeky puffs and a single comb. What color are the legs?
