Double checking

Tomorrow afternoon is my day 18 and I want to put them into the egg carton. I want to make sure I understand correctly when using this method you place the eggs big side up/narrow side down.

This is my first hatch and so far so good.

I have learned so much here. I had some eggs that I couldn't tell the big end from the little end. They told me to see where the air sell was and that would be the big end. Da, why didn't I think of that.

OMG!! I have been looking at the eggs and thinking that exact same thing! I'm glad you said something because I would have most likely put one in upside down!

Be happy for those eggs you can't tell which end is which girls because they are suppose to be hens.

Sexing by egg shape:

round or oval eggs hens
pointy eggs roo's

Time for an experiment!!! I'm curious to see if that is true, I have 5 eggs left but I really think only 3 are active...I'll make a little log and can keep track. Thanks for that little tid-bit.
