....Double the fun
Chuck and Buck are turning ONE!
A year ago today, two special ducks were hatched. For 6 years, my son, nicknamed Superduck for his amazing abilities in the water, begged for two ducks he would name Chuck and Buck. We made every excuse NOT to get them.
We aren't zoned for ducks.
We have three huskies.
You're way too busy as it is.
And then we caved. He doesn't ask for much. He is a good kid. He works harder than most people I know. He managed two swimming world records by age ten. I brought it up to my husband hoping he would tell me where to go. I got the opposite answer. "Sure! But where do we get babies?" Darn it. He caved.
We contacted Metzer and found out that they were only an hour away. We scheduled our pick up as close to Christmas as possible.
We surprised the boy, putting big headphones on him so he couldn't hear. We wrapped his swim parka over his head and led him across the parking lot. I won't lie. There were tears of joy. Chuck and Buck were coming home!
The past year is nothing like we imagined. Who knew ducks were so amazing? We really gained two more "children." We can't imagine life without our clowns.
And with that said...Happy First Birthday, Sweet Babies. And sorry, not sorry, you absolutely hate your party hats!
Link to homecoming!
