Got my first eggs yesterday and one was a double yoke. Just curious if this will be a constant thing from this hen and if their is anything I should watch out for with her. Can constantly laying double yoke cause issues?

Sometimes a hen will lay double yolks regularly, other times they only do it once, sometimes they do it once or twice a week. Laying double yolks is taxing, so offer lots of calcium and a nutrient rich food to keep their energy up. However, it shouldn't be a problem if it isn't a regular occurrence.

Thank you! The girls have fed around the coop constantly with free choice oyster shells also offered. During they day they are out and about catching and eating whatever good things they can find. Plus treats and left overs at least once a day. They are spoiled lol Very exciting to finally have eggs and watching the show leading up and after the laying was/is very amusing.
