Not really...fairly common in new layers.
How old are you birds, in weeks...and what breed?

@aart, they are buff orpington's and GLW's. About 22 weeks now.

Only my Sapphire Gems ever present me with double yolkers; they are also one of the few hybrid breeds I have and are the most reliable winter layers.

BTW, non-chicken people rarely get excited about photos of double-yolk eggs -- at least the ones I FORCE to look at my photos don't seem very interested. But, here at BYC, we celebrate with you!!!

Mostly happens in pullets till their reproductive tract gets synchronized.
Commercial store eggs used to yield double yolks years ago before producers started candling eggs for defects.

Yolk - nutrient bearing portion of an egg surrounded by albumen.
Yoke - a wooden crosspiece that is fastened over the necks of two beasts of burden and attached to a cart or plow.
