I have six Saxony ducks - hatched last spring. One or two of them has started laying eggs --- Huge eggs - the first one I cracked was double yolked. Is this unusual when they first start laying? I think I have read this is not desireable for saving for hatching- (we won't be doing that until spring). I have had runners for a couple of years now and don't remember every having a double yolk. Thanks for letting me know what your experience has been.

Yes it's normal for new layers to occasionally have Double Yolkers.
