Thread was started Wednesday, on day 17.... so they should be on day 19!

Of the Lavender Ameraucana Bantam eggs I had get cooked when the AC went off while I was gone... one that I opened and examined had twins inside. But not a double-yolk egg... it had two tiny, deceased embryos, both attached to the same yolk. I can only imagine if one like that went to term, they'd end up being joined at the belly when they both tried to absorb the yolk. I'm still kicking myself for not having taken any pictures.

I would love ducks and goats. I particularly want East Indie Black ducks, and I'm fond of pygmy goats. But I won't get either. One, I've got way too many animals already.... which is why I turned down the two female pygmy goat kids I was offered... and I live in a desert. I know a lot of people around here have ducks regardless, but it just doesn't seem fair to me to get ducks when there's no open water for about twenty miles in any direction. Kid pools just don't cut it in a climate this dusty. But if I ever have a place with a pond....

I've got miles of ungroomed atv trails. I'm thinking goats would help me clean them up. Once they finish the trails, the beginning will need trimming again.

Yes it is! Sketch was one of my first two rats and also the first to die (mammary tumor). Her “sister” Ink was a little black dumbo and the reason I fell in love in rats as pets. Ink knew her name, was perfectly litter trained, was constantly playing with me and loved everyone she met. Such a sweetheart haha.
I rescued mine from a local “rat rescue” and yea, they don’t last long. That’s the real reason I don’t own them anymore, it’s hard to go through losing something so smart with a 2 year lifespan over and over. Also, it’s a little painful owning such an awesome animal that everyone else hates.
