Double Yolkers

    My Red Hampshire young pullet is laying double yolkers. In the last few weeks we have had 4 they are amazing to eat and HUGE lol ouch.

    I have no idea why she is doing this she also lays single yolks too.

    Its nice whilst it last.

    Is this common I heard it was fairly unusual.

    Aren't they great? I think it's common with newly laying hens.......my golden buff hybrids layed alot of double yolkers at first.....

    It is very common for new layers. She will quit all too soon...

    Mine did a couple each in the first few months of their laying. It stops, unfortunately, after a while. [​IMG]
