I can't wait to hear about your results. I can't experiment yet, as I've been banned from using the bator for a bit longer due to the weather.

Have you candled yet?
These are due to start hatching on the 15th?

Candled today (day 13), had 4 that were clearish. Opened them up, watery; 2 still had defined yolks.

As cold as it had been up here in Dec, they may have gotten frosted. Or infertile. Who knows?
21 still in the hopper, all look dark inside!

Happy about them, as well as the coupla feet of snow sliding off the roof.

Tired of shoveling!

How's it going?

My bator is cleaned & prepped for eggs arriving today

hopefully.
Not many of them, since it's a test hatch batch. But I'm excited!

Will dowse them and see how it goes....

Well (hanging head in embarassment) , I may have a problem . . .
I'm looking to get a semi-production setup going, with 3 bators, 2 of which have turners.
The 3rd bator was going to be the Day 18 Bator (no turner). I pre-set the temp & hum, Put the day 18 eggs in, went off to work, came back & found it was at 108F.
I mighta fried them . . .
Today is #21, and I don't know what to do except to hang in & see if there's any life signs for the next couple days . . .
Any suggestions?

I candled 3 or 4, and the dark areas sorta swirled a bit when I moved the egg . . .
Then, one that I moved seemed to have a little beeker moving around on its own . . .

Just be patient and wait and see. I'm sorry that happened, it's happened to me too. Are you sure the thermometer was right?
