Hi,
My rooster has an e. Coli infection that I've been treating with doxycycline every 12 hours and it turns out he also has Staph so the vet just prescribed Amoxicillin to give him every 12 hours as well. Is it safe to give to him both antibiotics at the same time? They are both to be given orally through a syringe, so will it be okay to give him the doses back-to-back together every day twice a day at the same time?
I'm weary my vet knows much about chickens which is why I just want to make sure...

From what I know, it won't hurt your rooster to be on doxy and amoxy at the same time, but doxy will often decrease the effectiveness of amoxy when used in tandem. There probably is a better combo.

If you are very skeptical, doxy alone will work on the two types of bacteria. You can reserve the amoxy and see if he improves on the doxy alone, and if not, then start up the amoxy with it.
