Dozen egg prices?

I charge $4. When I was getting ready to sell, the price in the local grocery stores was between $4.25 and $4.89 so I thought it was a fair price. Since my eggs taste better than the store's, everyone has thought it is a fair price.

I charge two and really wish I had started out at three. In any case there is of course no profit, but it is really hard to go up in price to the folks that have always been getting them for two. I am quite certain that I would have no problem selling them at three. Everyone that I sell to really appreciates the eggs for wha they are and that makes me feel good.

$2 but my hens only started laying in December, so they're medium sized eggs. Some are big, some are weensy.

My friends don't mind. I'll go up when the eggs get bigger or if I have to sell farm stand style. I don't want to undercut the farms down the road. In a 10 mile stretch of road, we have 4-5 farm stands!

Hi,

I sort my eggs by size and have made up this sign with prices:

I charge more for the green eggs as you never see them around here--and they sell!

Hope this helps! Genie

$1.50 a dozen here..$2 is tops in my area..You would NEVER sell eggs at more than that here..My customers give me cartons and bring mine back so I sell a little cheaper..
