I am building a coop from found and collected pieces, because I'm a glutton for punishment.

It will be a finished 62" deep x 46" wide x 98" high (inside dems 58x36x60ish) with three nest boxes. I'm going to try deep litter. I acquired a number of years ago, against my will (gotta love hoarding in-laws who want to store things at MY house too) a 54x52" window. I thoughr, "What a great coop side! Lots of light, even in winter, and a great view of the ladies at all times."

I hope that doesn't prove to be a mistake. I'm open to opinions. More photos as things progress.

I would be concerned about the glass breaking, but if it is a type that resists this, it could work out very well. Does it open? A lot depends on your climate. You may want that large an area to be open to the air in summer.

It's tempered, and made for home use. I was concerned as well at first, but it looks to be strong. The front will hinge open fully inside the run if it's a hot day, and I'm putting adjustable vents in. Summer can vary widely in southern PA.
