Even my very attentive Drake that was inseperable to my Hen took the first duckling to hatch out and drowned it. I thought I could at least trust him being near her. I would never trust a Drake near babies again. I have seen them in the wild stay with the Hen and be alright and mine were wild so I thought it would be okay but it was not. She got upset and left the nest after I separated them so I made a rinky dink homemade incubator and a week later two of the 4 eggs I took from the nest hatched out. The eggs had been cold and left unattended for several hours so I didn't think any would hatch but those two made it. Good luck with yours.
