Drake head feathers.

My female pekin does that. She's the only one of my ducks who does; neither of my drakes do. She's the most dominant/aggressive of my four ducks so could it also be a dominance thing?

If he starts talking a lot, and starts flaring his neck feathers up, yes.

Does anyone know the reason my drake, Chowder, will do this to his head feathers occasionally? I got him to do it for the picture by holding him on my lap for a few minutes then put him down to join his gf, Waddles.
One pic is normal Chowder the other is poofed up Chowder.

Lol, my guys do it too, usually that feather flaring, standing up really tall, making a ridiculous noise, followed by dropping their heads low to the ground and zooming around.

Ohh yea mine do that too lol
