Drake Issue!!

I think the only way to avoid drakes fighting is to only have one drake. My problem is that I really like both my males - Jack and Kitkat - and have enough females for each when I divide the flocks. I would seriously consider not replacing one of them when the time comes. Problem with that is that Muscovy ducks can live up to 20 years and they are only 3 and 4 years old. They might outlive me. Hum - better put a provision in my will for them. :lau

Wow, I didn't know Muscovy ducks could live that long.

Will this eventually stop after a certain point (I.e. year 3 for example) or are drakes like this their whole lives?
It depends on the drake: My Buff Orpington drake "Erpelchen" turned from a sweet, shy little drake into a menace in his second year, but this year (age 3) he is a real sweetheart with the ducks, doing what he can to protect his group from the three drakeholes.

I have separated my Peking and khaki Campbell (khaki had an eye injury) and my khaki is the one to blame for the fighting. Pekin is completely happy and sweet with the chickens. No interest in going after them! Hopefully eventually my khaki will follow suit or my pekin will keep him in line.
