UPDATE:
I have opened the dividing gate to my pekin pens. I am currently home 24/7 and have been observing behaviors for 5days now.

My lone male is co-exsisting with his parents with no issues. He has started wholeheartedly smashing down his mash and they all share a bowl!

The two drakes stand guard while my hen bathes/swims. And provide her with an escort wherever she goes. Breeding season is basically over here, so I have some grace to find lonely boy a true partner.

It is not easy to find an adult pekin here. Thankfully I have some months to do it now that the three amigos are behaving themselves :D

That’s great news and unless your just partial to Pekins maybe consider another breed? I’d try for light colors though sometimes Pekins are preferential to lighter colors than dark. Please keep us updated on how they are doing!

Thank you! I now have two RouenxPacific Black ducks that my husband thought may make good buddies for him. But they are going to be wayyyy too small! At the moment they free range with my motley crew of chooks... my girls are Large... but I will separate them if needs be when they mature!

In Australia (where I am at least) there aren’t many breed choices. I suppose a runner may be possible, but my Pekins are like MEGA size :D Ducks aren’t really easy to get, unless you want day old ducklings... I’ll see if anything pops up after Easter.... I imagine there will be people with cute ducky regret in a couple of months time... sad... :( but may work to my advantage :)
