I have a mallard who was VERY loud as a baby and I was told was likely a female. I had no doubts until today. The duck has no curled tail feather, has a brown/orange beak and feet, and brown feathers with white on the wings. Today it was playing under the heat lamp and there is a slight green tint to her head feathers. I know males get the green heads, but do females have a green tint to them? Thank you! Sorry she is scared of my phone for whatever reason :)

I think 6-8 weeks old. Yes it quacks but it’s kind of still a peep and pretty raspy. The peeps are loud but the quacks are pretty quiet.

I remember when I had 10 khaki Campbell’s that age, and I started to see a little tiny bit of green sheen on the heads of seven of them! Yep, I had seven drakes. You might be right.
