Drake Pekins Aggressive

I have 22 chickens (2 boys and 20 girls) that live with 5 ducks (2 boys and 3 girls). Only once have my ducks been aggressive with a chicken and that was when the rest of the chickens were harassing her. They decided to join in (brats). They’ve all been together for about a year that was the only issue. They have space plenty of roost space and multiple food and water spots available. I didn’t know it wasn’t suggested to keep them together until after they were all together, and not having any issues so far I’m not planning on making a change.

As your already doing it no sense in repeating. IMO i have found Pekin drakes to be pretty aggressive, and that is banging up against all the Muscovy drakes i own.

I only own 2 pekin now, a pair and cannot still let my drake out he literally kicks up nothing but trouble with what is now an only drake Muscovy flock. He is just a pill, cute but a pill.

She was dead. The pool was across the yard but I think her neck broke from it. I had found a few pullets in the pool the days preceding the incident and was watching extra to see if they were maybe getting on the edge and falling in. I hadn’t even thought of this being the reason till I looked out and saw it. The ducks are now confined and I will move the pen when the ground gets yucky.

Yikes that is intense. I am fortunate my Muscovy drakes don't touch chickens. That said i have one Muscovy x who is a REAL pill with the call females have to watch out for him if they are out.
