Question for Marty1876: Would oral antibiotics be a good idea at this time since it has been several days, considering the risk of infection?

that needs to be cut off to allow the rest to retract back inside. prolaps left untreated can become infected and cause not only pain but the infection to spread.

So do I do it myself? Where do I cut it? It is pink right at the top and right at the tip end, does that not mean its still live tissue? Would it not bleed to death? And what do I put on it when it's an open wound? Help please

I think the fact that its pink on its in is positive.

Amiga-Oral antibiotics would be helpful in this case probobly, to at least prevent spread of further infection. If its pink, there is enough circulation to bring the antibiotic to where it needs to be...winky village.

Well that's good news, I have just been keeping it clean and using antibiotic cream on it which seems to be keeping it under control, with the tip being pink I don't think the skin is dead enough to cut off. The picture is in my photo album I'm not too sure how to add it to my comments

If your taking him to vet tomarrow, I'd just keep it clean and moist and with antibiotic cream on it. I agree, it appears to still have lots of health to it, but its far from ideal to have it out. I've never actually had this to this extent with my boys. He might have gotten something inside his pouch, and it maybe uncomfortable to draw it in. There must be some reasonable explaination for this.

Thank you for uploading the picture for me and thank you for the advice, I will see what the vet says but the only problem Is if they tell me it's going to cost a lot, I just won't b able to afford it I will update tomorrow
