Drake question

Hi all!
I’ve been reading a lot of these threads on the duck forum, and though I don’t know the gender of my ducklings quite yet, their voices are starting to change I have a sneaking suspicion that I have two drakes and one female.

My question is: if I have to separate the two drakes from the female next spring (all of this is hypothetical because I’m not actually positive of their gender) because they’re too rough with her, could I reintegrate them after mating season is over? Or do I have to get rid of one of the drakes?

Well...unless I'm mistaken mating season lasts all year doesn't it?

Having more drakes than females, I don't think that's suppose to work.
I’m not sure. I’ve read a lot of posts lately about people having their drakes get *ahem* “aggressive” with their females in the spring, so I’m just curious about it all! I love my babes, but if I end up with a weird drake to hen ratio, I’ll get rid of a drake, but I just want to be prepared 🤗

I agree with the above answers. Mating season here is whenever there’s water to swim in! It depends on the ducks. Yesterday I had my 2 pekin drakes out with my call drake, and kahki hen. Only the callduck hooks up with her.
You need to think about safety though, 2 boys could easily drown a hen. I’d get a few girls to even things out, even that might not work. You may need to seperate them in the future, if you want to keep them all.
In the meantime enjoy your littles!

Thank you! I’m getting four more littles, in a couple weeks, and hoping there’s a few more hens!
