Thank youThat might be a drake feather developing on the pekin. On the others I’ll tag @Miss Lydia and @WVduckchick
Thank you...I was hoping for 2 of the same sex lol I 97% sure the Pekin is a drake...I voice sexed him it just wouldn’t let me upload the video here. Now the Mallard wouldn’t make hardly any sound lol it’s like he/she knows lolBoth appear to be drakes, but for confirmation at this age, voice-sexing is the best option. As stated previously, females will have an audible quack whereas drakes make low, rasping sounds. Beautiful ducks.
No problem.Thank you...I was hoping for 2 of the same sex lol I 97% sure the Pekin is a drake...I voice sexed him it just wouldn’t let me upload the video here. Now the Mallard wouldn’t make hardly any sound lol it’s like he/she knows lol
I’m pretty positive your mallard is a boy as females will never have that black patch over their tail. Here is my adult crested grey mallard hen. My white Layers started to quack - more a squiek - at just two weeks!Sometimes sooner haha! One of my pekins was quacking up a storm at 4 weeks.
They tend to develop in the chest/neck region first, and it looks like your duck is starting to develop that Mallard 'collar'.
