Drakes won't leave mom of 9 alone,..help

I have 6 of Shorty's eggs and she is sitting on 12 eggs that should hatch in 6-10 days. If it happens this year,..the last 4 yrs the raccoons and possums got her eggs, she has a good spot and has been sitting on them longer than before. Now since she is another domestic Pekin and if she has ducklings I should try to bring them home after Momma Mallard lost all nine of her babies in less than a week. They might not be able 4fly and will never survive at the college pond with all the dogs, traffic and turtles

Oh dear, what to do? I confess to being out of ideas... Guess the ball's in your court (and mother nature's). (who clearly can be kind of a b****!) Though, maybe that is just her way of saying "there's too many ducks here..."

That commonly happens to ducks in the wild. It's just the way mallard drakes are; desperate to mate so they mate the same female over and over, sometimes killing her. If I had a situation like that what I would do (even though illegal) depending on how tame the female is, would bring her home to my pond.
