well ive had dreadlocks off and on for about almost 2 years synthetic of corse i leave them in for about 2 months at the most. and im tired of wasting my money on the hair so im thinking about dreading my natural hair. i was wondering if anyone on byc have dreadlocks and i also was wondering what you think of IM DIFFERENT AND I LOVE IT lol

If you have hair, enjoy it. God only knows how long it will be with you.

I did not even know that you could have synthetic dreads. I would go natural if that is your thing. I looked into it several years ago but my husband quickly vetoed that idea

I do love the look of well kept dreads.

I don't have them but many of my friends do and lots of people where I live do. Why do you care what people think? It's your hair do what you feel the most comfortable with.

these are synthetic

and these are not me i dont have a good photo of myself with dreadlocks
i dont really care how people look at me i dont have a staring problem lol im just wondering if anyone dislikes them or like em

I think that its silly to have synthetic ones. I mean its a bit strange when people see you with regular hair one day, and dreads the next. Go for the real thing! you can always grow them out when you dont want them anymore.

well i usually dont go out and everyone is use to seeing me with the synthetic ones and not my natural hair and im gonna do dreads ive set my mind to it so im gonna do them

My brother inlaw and his wife both have dreds, I think they look good when your younger( under 40) they are both in their 20's and they really suit them, Actually I can't imagine them with a normal hair cut lol, the only thing with natural dreds is that you have trouble washing your hair, My BIL has said that his head does get really itchy and dandruff becomes a bit of a problem. Also when they get long and heavy they start to snap your hair at the roots so your hair start thining out at the top.
