dream chicken is rare?!?

Heads up tho if you plan to get any JG's from a hatchery.... As you may already know, there is a BIG difference betwen Hatchery birds and exhibition birds! We got one as a lark last spring, thinking it would be fun to have a giant chicken roaming around, well, she is no bigger than our RIR's, and our cochin hens are bigger! If she wasnt black, we would forget what she was!

We are looking forward to meeting some real JG's next weekend at the Northeastern Poultry Congress in Western Mass. I have heard they are a real sight!

Good Luck, and dont give up, they are out there!

I think finding great chickens are rare, but you can find reg. JG any where just about. Here is my 8 month old cockeral Andre. Note the Table behind him and the full grown EE hens beside him. He's a monster but sweet as candy. I have him and his brooder mate, a blue cockeral that came from Bobbi's line.

We are extremely lucky to have a chicken freak working at our feed store, so that most of our birds are exhibition quality. No major faults anyway in the Giants. Chickenpiedpiper, I don't know what happened to your bird, but ours are huge! and so sweet and pretty. They are dream birds.

There are Quality Jersey Giants from us and other Breeders right here on the BYC.

Have Fun!
