Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

Another day, another project I didn't get done yesterday. It was so foggy and humid Monday that I decided the stain wouldn't dry very well so I skipped that project.

My other frustration yesterday was that my phone is acting up. Over the weekend, it told me that my SIM card was missing. Of course, it wasn't missing; I didn't remove it and I could still use the phone and text functions. Then, all was okay -- until last night, when it repeated that the card was missing and cut me off mid-phone call. Later, all was good again. Guess when I go to the feed store today, I will swing by Verizon.

Good thing I still keep a land line. Otherwise, my sister who worries about me being in the country alone would have probably called the sheriff to check on me! People tell me it's silly to keep a rarely used land line, but clearly, it has it uses.

Jim, too bad about your DD's ex. Good for her not sending the stuff, and good for you getting some good tools out of the mess.

I didn't like her ex. he was a control freak. anyway he left 30 years ago.
good riddance. she lived with a guy for several years, then he got cancer. they got married, and he died two days later.
we are going to the "farrier" today and getting our tonails trimmed. Our insurance allows it twice per year.
we have a land line, too. Annie's heart monitor is hooked up to it. Mine was at first, but now mine is hooked up to my cell phone.

Sounds like DD has had some trying times, to say the least. Hope she's doing okay now.

My trip to Verizon was great. My SIM card was replaced free of charge, and my phone works perfectly well again.

Since I seemed to have run out of EVERYTHING at once, I spent most of the morning in town buying heartworms meds at the vet's; flea meds at Menards; all-flock, overpriced dog food and fly traps at the feed store; groceries (hey, something for me!); and an ink cartridge for the printer. I also stopped at Walgreens to pick up some photo prints. Having my phone go crazy made me realize that there were a lot of photos on it that I could lose forever. I wanted hard copies to put into albums and scrapbooks.

The takeaway is that by the time I finished running all over, I lost motivation and those darned cedar boards are still not stained. Today, I say, today!

you can't do it today,,,you are too tired from yesterday.

today we are going to give it one more big push. I want a space cleared for two riders and the tiller.
getting rid of misc. pieces of iron/steel and other metals is a pain. a few years ago a guy came with a truck and a large trailer and took anything we wanted to get rid of. naturally we can't find his phone number. In the mean time I think we will just make a junk pile some place out of the way.
(NOT in the lean to)

I lucked out last year. A guy just showed up at the gate, asking it he could buy a part off Jim's old, non-running panel truck. I said, sure, and it turns out this guy makes his living selling salvaged stuff. He has a flatbed trailer and ended up not only hauling off vehicles and other metal junk, he actually paid me a few hundred dollars. Of course, I know he made a lot more money than what I got, but who cares? It's gone!

that's how I feel about it. I am willing to pay somebody if they would just take everything.
they can sell the metal for a little extra cash.
