Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

I got the wine into 1 gal jugs. one ended up 3/4 full

GS Kalib hit a deer this morning on his way home from work. not too much damage to his truck.
the deer ran off.
just 3 weeks ago he got his truck back after being repaired from his first deer encounter.

There's a lot of deer out there Jim. Our herd is growing and growing. The mild winter last year probably helped. The deer cross the road a lot in front of our house. Nothing had been hit yet, but I'm expecting something again this year. Last year my husband salvaged the one that the people just left lying in the road. It was one of the mama's. Her kids ended up following another doe around.

Lucky that the deer incident with Kalib wasn't more serious! I used to have a deer run in my backyard when I lived above Soldier Creek in Fort Dodge; I see far fewer deer here.

My sister is coming up to visit today. One of our major goals is to get tarps hung on the runs and goat shelter area. Lisa, I am going to Menards today, but online it says they are out of stock on those panels. Guess I should have gotten them sooner. 🙁

I haven't seen any more movement in the coop where the rats were. But, I will likely add another set of poison presents, just in case. The chickens I had to relocate to the cheap, prefab coop seem to like the run but don't want to go inside at night. The roosts are pretty low, and the mean rooster has been sleeping in a nest box.

I am hoping the weather folks are right about a couple of dry days. I am tired of mud in the runs and mud tracked into the house by two dogs and me.

both of the deer that Kalib hit, ran into the side of his truck. the first one hit the door and broke the mirror off
kamakazi deer
menard's is always trying to keep their inventory low. what you usually need to do is order what you want and they will get it for you in about a week.
i didn't do a thing this weekend. too wet ourside.
i still have to drain the rain barrels. that won't take long.
have a solar motion detection light to mount onto the garage. i don't know how much sunlight they need to charge the battery.

good morning
yesterday we went around town and collected a few military perks. onr store gave 12 free items to veterans. it came to $48.oo worth,. nice. then we went to Olive Garden and I got my meal for free. we could have had breakfast at Denny's, but I don't care for that place. beggars can be choosy.
I tried to get Ollie started. no such luck. I guess I will have to call the local mechanic over to take a look.

thank you, but I didn't do anything heroic.
today Annie took me along to steal some winterberry shoots from along the swamp by the road. the berries are falling off easily. I will plant some and see what happens.
we found a gallon jug of blackberry wine. I don't know how old it is. but we figure aboout 4 or 5 year
I tasted it and it is perfect. have no idea of the alcohol content, but the clarity and flavor is great.'
