Thanks!!!Well, Jim, if you've learned anything from this, it's that you can't go around doing high-end projects -- like insulating a garage stairway for $30 -- and not expecting it to overly improve your property.
Lisa, that mole is even more unattractive than the usual, garden variety of pest. I hope it is a single, solitary beast and that you don't find any of its friends or relatives.
@ShrekDawg, your visitors were much more pleasant to look at!
An update on my rodent-ravaged car situation: Monday, I had an appointment to get the wiring fixed, but it wouldn't start. My AAA guy (who is also my hay guy) came out and got it running. Not that it mattered because I got a call from the dealership that we had to reschedule for Tuesday; the tech called in sick.
Yesterday, as I was getting ready to drive into town (relieved, because the car started), I got a text and a call from the SA at the dealership. Tech is still sick, so we need to reschedule again.
The appointment is now set for Friday; I told the SA to simply pick a day she thought might work for them. If the (apparently only sufficiently trained) technician doesn't recover by then, I may need to send flowers and a get well card. Or, a full-service dealership may want to cross train one of the many other folks who work in the shop.
And the Universe laughed at me again: I got a text asking me to rate the dealership's service department. I think I will wait until the day, if ever it comes, that the work is actually done.
On the plus side, yesterday's snow was light, fluffy and easy to shovel, and today, it's supposed to get above freezing.
