Friends who own a rustic motel on the North Shore of Lake Superior sent photos of the northern lights that they could see from their backyard last week. None visible here, though.
Weather was a balmy 50 degrees yesterday. But, it's been steadily snowing here for the last two hours, which greatly reduces the likelihood that I will travel to an antique and collectibles auction today where I didn't need to buy anything anyway.
My first indoor Walla Wallas are still growing, and a few of the second batch are starting to break through the soil. Feeling better now about planting some of the lettuces. Of course, if this goofy weather doesn't settle down, who knows if I can keep any of them alive long enough to transplant outdoors?
BTW, I got a new locking socket wrench extension. It was long enough but I failed to get one with a diameter small enough to fit the socket wrench and the 5/16 socket. Another trip to town followed, and I exchanged the extension for a slimmer one. Finally got the battery installed and picked up my hay Friday.
An online friend sent me a photo of about a foot of snow in Dubuque. How's the white stuff in Wisconsin?
