One of my chickens has been sick for the last few days. I felt her crop and compared to the other chickens, it is VERY squishy, as though it were full of water. She has a large comb that is drooped completely over and browning slightly on the ends. Recently, she stopped eating as well, only picking at treats she usually loves.

I thought it might be sour crop, but there is no rotten smell on her breath. Can it still be sour crop or is it something else??

Also, if it is sour crop, is there an immediate way of treating it, like flushing the crop?
The only way I saw was giving her yogurt/apple cider over a few days, but she seems to be getting worse...

I wish I could help...I know how it feels when you've posted and no one has answered after a couple of hours! Just means we've looked but don't know. Does her crop feel like it has liquid in it? Or just empty??? While you're waiting, won't hurt to try massage and some ACV. I've seen people talk about tilting their chicken to get them to "throw up" the liquid...but then I've seen others say it could cause them to asphyxiate. So I'm not so sure that's the way to go.
