My geese are just getting their blood feathers and I am getting the typical low wings, but one of the goslings has the lowest wing I have ever had on my geese. I am concerned. They get 16% feed with oats and niacin in the morning and are on grass the rest of the day. They free range 11-12 hours a day so they are getting evercise. Do you think I need to tape this one up, or give it more time? She is only dropping her wing on the right side and when I checked her over today she seems to be developing normally, but is smaller and thinner than the other geese.

. Good idea on including a picture, should make it easier for the goose pros to help!

When the blood recedes she will hitch,it back up with no problem. We have a Sebbie boy who looks about the same right now but with both wings. You shouldn't need to wrap them as you want them to exercise the wing, and flapping builds muscle and helps pull them back up.

Thanks Celtic Oaks. You really eased my mind. I've never had one this low. I guess I need to get out there and chase the geese today to get them flapping their wings.

My neighbors know I am crazy goose lady already, so they won't be shocked.

I have this problem in my Muscovy ducks. Ducks and geese have a fast growth rate. When their wing feathers start to come in, they become droopy because they are so heavy to bear. It will get better, just give it time

Can this happen with an adult goose? My emden is doing this very thing. She can move it and sort of lift it, but she can not pull it up to tuck it.

Welcome to BYC. Have you checked for broken bones, cuts, swelling, & bruises? I've seen this before in adults, and it usually means there is an injury.
