The membrane is still intact and the egg broke where the air cell is. There was not that much blood, I can see the chick is still alive inside. I used a shell from another egg to cover up where t was broken. What else should I do? Wrap a damp rag around it? I don't want to break the membrane because I don't want the chick to drown and the veins are still red. Taking pictures now... Please give me your advice... Thanks

Dont use another egg piece, because if/when the chick starts to hatch.. IF it pips under the 'egg layer' you will lose the chick. How much longer do you have?.. IF its day 18+ just keep in the incubator, and watch it.. it may need some help hatching when its time., as the member will get tough.

If you still have a few more days.. Use Elmore's glue, and depending on the size of the creak/opening, Tissue Paper. If the creak is mild, you can get away with just using Elmore's Glue, lightly over the creak..If there is a 'hole' cover lightly w/Tissue Paper and Elmore's Glue.

This does not guarantee the chick will still hatch, as we all know, Chicks can make it to term, but for some unknown reason, just not hatch.. But this will at least give it a chance.

at least 20 - 23 days. I just glued tissue paper on it. If there is no movement does that mean its dead? I think I can see its beak

It was moving! I think it still is I just don't want to mess with anymore

*don't want to mess with it anymore. I am not totally sure of the date of this egg because I didn't write it down (OOOPS!) So it could be 15+ days or older, I am not sure.

Wrap it up in a moist warm paper towel if it's moving. Keep it warm. If you don't know the date that's a problem. No way it will live more than 24 hours.

Do you think I should get the beak out so it can breathe? The other person told me to glue tissue paper over the shell that broke off so that is what I did. Should I wrap the moist paper towel around it also? I know it doesn't have a very good chance at surviving but I want to do the best I can to save it.
