Dropping feathers

I have noticed the small fluffy feathers on the floor of the coop and in the back yard. When they do the wild dance across the drive I see feathers floating. They don't seem to be getting skinny from dropping feathers. Is this some kind of molt or are they just loosing feathers from the heat? They seem healthy and are eating and drinking well. John




I should add they are buff orps and black australorps and are 13 weeks old.

It's very normal for 13 or 14 week chicks to molt out some juvenile feathers...I have 13 week olds doing this now....
