I never said that, I believed they were smoking Meth. If it was a meth lab it would smell for days on end if not weeks. If the cops won't do anything contact the DEA they are always hot to trot for stuff like that.

I'm inferring from your first post that you think they were smoking marijuana. I agree with others that it probably was not pot. Most modern strains of marijuana have a pleasant or exotic smell, and certainly would not give you a headache from a block away.
It sounds like something was being cooked. Maybe it was meth, but are you positive it wasn't food? Many ethnic dishes can smell strong or unpleasant to folks who aren't used to them. I almost lost it once smelling plantains grilling - ick. To me it smelled like burning hair covered with honey and I don't know what.
Just a thought...

I'm very ignorant on this so I have a question. If the smoke/stink came into the house, could that affect you, as in get into your system and mess up a drug test or something?

i eat a lot of different ethnic foods. it wasnt food. and they all split right after the smell. it might be a lab, they might've just been smokin it or what ever it was. next time it happens we will call the cops.

Doubtfully they put margins in drug test so they don't get alot of false positives. If they tested EVERYONE for Cocaine ALOT of people will test positive for it. WHY you may ask. Well its not as common now but in the past 8 out of 10, 20 and 100 dollar bills had cocaine residue on them. You get it on your hands, it goes in your mouth, you rub it on your cloths you get the picture.

As for the cloud/smoke actually getting you high, that is seriously doubtful. Unless you are tossing large amounts into a fire and standing there breathing the smoke in.

It matters how much smoke you had in your house. If you could really see it (the smoke in your house) then yes you might have had enough for it to test positive in your system it is just extremely doubtful. Regardless if it was Meth it is out of your system within 2 days, its water based. Cocaine, alcohol, X, among other drugs are water based to. Cannabis aka Marijuana stays in your system so long because it is lipid based (fat based) so until you burn off that fat its in, its stuck in your body. That is why they can test heavy users 30 days + after their last smoke and they still pop on the test.

Also I don't think you can get high off a meth labs smoke, its more toxic fumes than anything. It is a safety hazard for you thou Rosey if they are indeed cooking. It can blow up and level homes for 100 feet or more. Meth labs do BLOW UP alot to, its usually how Cops find them. Dumb tweekers

It probably wasn't even drug related. Sounds more like they were roasting green chiles, and of course they all left when the roasting was done. They had to hurry home and peel those babies.

Sometimes Anglos don't understand the cooking smells of other people. Green chiles emit just the odor described when roasting.

That said, I have seen marifoofa grown in chicken yards in Mexico. The have to put chicken wire around the plants to keep the birds from eating them down to a nub. They know a good thing.

Reminds me of these two old Mexican ladies I used to know. They raised it to sell, but when they got busted, they told the Judicial that they used it to make a linament for arthritus. They whipped it up in a blender with olive oil, some sort of little chiles and some other herbs.

Not only did they get off on the marijuana charge, they sold the judge two bottles of the stuff.

I've roasted, fried, grilled, and cooked in stews and chilli, and never smelled anything nasty and never got a headache from the odors in any of those situations.

I've eaten the foods the natives eat (not the crap given to tourists!) in 8 different countries (one I lived in for 3 years and have dual-citizenship with), and the only thing I can say is nasty *tasting* in all of them is marmite/vegemite and bell peppers (though bell peppers the smell alone will make me 'sell the buick', but it won't give me any headache).

Huffing glue will give one a headache, breathing too much paint fumes if inside and not enough ventilation is happening will give one a headache, many chemicals (like toluine(sp?)) will give one a headache, and the manufacturing of certain illicit drugs will give one a headache and the other thing in common with them all is.....they are *extremely* bad for ones body.​

Rosy could be sensitive to smoke. When I am tired and end up down wind of a smoker for too long or just sitting next to one in class I get a headache from it. This only happens though when I am tired, I'm not sure why only then. Normally I just get a bit dizzy with prolonged exposure.
