While you are at it, buy some Newcastle vaccine and squirt it in a nostril before you let the bird go.
So, they will be inoculated against Marek's AND Newcastle.
And that is it, easy !

Just another thought here that popped into my head. Should I destroy all my eggs? Or do you think they won't be affected? Probably dumb question, right?!?

I am leaning towards destruction of eggs.

Cannot find a neighbor or friend ?
I use a dish towel, wrap the bird it it tightly, and when I do these things, and apply meds to their feet, I always do it in the wee hours while it is almost still dark and the birds are kinda still asleep.
Maybe there is a vet that you can visit and buy a small amount of vaccine from ?
The important part is to do it, cuz once your birds have it, there is no way to cure it.
Wild bird carry it and spread it around, unfortunately the wild birds are all around us.
Isolate the sick chickens from infecting each other further, and get them vaccinated !

I have heard of 2 out of 20 chickens affected and died, and the rest just fine, so probably a question only a vet could answer !

You can eat the eggs if they have Marek's. But if it is something else ???? Mine wasn't laying yet when she died. I know that you have to be careful about some of the antibiotics and wormers.

I sure hope it isn't Marek's. The more I read about this disease the more I wish I had done the vaccine. I don't overly vaccinate or medicate any of my animals, I try to keep the "poison" out of them, but sometimes the disease might really be worse.

Right or wrong, it really doesn't matter. Once we have, we have it and there is nothing we can do to make it go away. But if the wild birds carry it then that would explain where I got this and there is no such thing as a closed flock.
